Yes, the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY was the one who first came out with the Buffalo wings. They are, however, generally wings and legs mixed.

grew up in Buffalo. Everyone knows this when you grow up there. Every pizza place in Buffalo carries them, too.

the answer goes back to nearly ancient times. the sky buffalo, now extinct, was a very sought after source of food. the reason it was in such high demand was because of its wings. the body of the buffalo had a texture and similar taste to beef, but the wings were different. they had a rather spicy flavor to them and when cooked to a proper temperature a white"juice" would drip from them. this juice has been described by scholars as having a creamy cool refreshing flavor(today we equate that with ranch) in the sky buffalo wing even the bone was edible. it had a sharp crispness to it and a slightly bitter yet palatable flavor. today we serve it with celery for that bitter flavor. that is the history of sky buffalo wings. see you do learn something new every day.

Some dude was trippin on acid when he was making the sauce for his chicken wings and thought they belong on a buffalo.

Because they were first created in Buffalo New York.
