Yes, you can. The basic idea is that without an ice cream maker, you'll need to at least scrape and stir the frozen pulverized fruit + sugar syrup (plus anything else you add) a few times then allow to completely freeze again in order to break up the ice crystals (otherwise, it will freeze into one big hard hunk).
