Which is better: A few big meals or frequent small snacks?!

Question: Which is better: A few big meals or frequent small snacks?
I've heard its better for your metabolism if you have more frequent, small meals and snacks throughout the day as opposed to three big meals. is it true? that's how i eat, but I was always wondering if thta was really how you were supposed to eat

Answers:

If you can eat smaller meals every two-three hours, you'll keep your blood sugar pretty level, meaning you won't feel hungry and have less tendency to over eating. if you watch kids before they learn bad eating habits, they don't eat large meals at all and they leave a lot on their plate and their face and the floor. It's actually normal is eat regularly, but learn to listen to your body and stop eating when your brain registers it's gotten enough nourishment. So eat, chew and enjoy eating at a slower pace. The size of the meal may depend upon what you've done for the day and how much nourishment your body needs. Become an expert at listening to the 'I'm hungry' and 'I'm full' signals your body sends.

Well, you need to eat controlled meals if they are frequent.
It is true that it boosts your metabolism, as long as the food you eat is quick and easy to digest. If you eat frequent meals of complex carbs, saturated fats, and high sugars, your body will store them as fat instead of digest them for energy. Remember, carbs are long term energy, but if you are not burning calories like in exercise, then you should limit carbs and fats. Your body will only use these when it's own sources are depleted, and then begin to break these down slowly.
If you are looking to stay filled, eat fruits and veggies throughout the day, this will keep you from craving big heavy meals and binge eating. Also, drinking lots of cold water will help your body's metabolism kick start, and also keep you full and hydrated.

A hearty breakfast, tea and biscuits, lunch, a pick me up in the afternoon, and evening meal of your choice, and snacks in between is good. Drink lots of water or juice.

If you are a diabetic, then small meals and snacks frequently is recommended. Lots of water and fruit juices is good.

Or, if you are health conscious, a healthy breakfast, light lunch, and healthy or meal of your choice in the evening. With snacks in between. And lots of water.

Dried fruit or fresh would do.
