Fresh baking powder...does it matter? 10 pts :-)?!

Question: Fresh baking powder...does it matter? 10 pts :-)?
So I have this old baking powder in my cabinet that's been open for a long time and I'm making some cookies to send my BF and I want them to taste PERFECT. lol! Should I go run & grab a fresh box or will it make no difference in the end?

Answers:

It *will* make a difference. Baking powder is what gives the cookies their rise. Your cookies might not come out with the right texture. If you actually meant baking soda then definitely get a new box because soda is used to absorb odors and will have taken on many odd flavors and tastes

Baking powder is more likely to under-perform when it is old than baking soda is. I would highly recommend getting a new box/can.

i would go get a new box if you want them to turn out perfect
