Am I really supposed to be drinking this much water?!

Question: Am I really supposed to be drinking this much water?
I drank almost no water for a long time and now my kidneys are messed up. I read where it says to drink your body weight divided by 0.6 in ounces. This is 4 liters a day for me.. Seems like a hell load of water. I've been doing this for the past 3 days and I do feel a little better but kind of sick sometimes. I drink this much from about 7:00am to 11:00pm. I drink a little more if I exercise and sweat a lot. Is this really the normal amount to drink because I've seen this on several different sites.

Answers:

Doctors recommend that you drink 64 oz. of water a day (over a 24 hour period). You actually can drink too much water, depending on your health. If you are exercising, you are likely excreting water/salt from your body and could take a bit more in. I have been told to watch your output (i.e., sweat, urination...). If you see any type of swelling around your ankles, calves, etc., then it would be wise to see your doctor before you continue your normal regimen.

Drinking too much water can be fatal and bad if not fatal. I have an intolerance to drinking water- I feel nauseous and dizzy and get a head, plus I feel very sick to my stomach.
As long as you hydrate, it is OK.
You can drink juice, eat watermelon or whatever.
If you feel a little better that's good, just keep sipping water, but really, do NOT over drink.

Water is good for your body of course, but too much, you feel motion sickness and headache. I get this every time I drink plain water, or liquids. I have to consume the fluids another way.
Rare, but no unheard of.

no you need 8 glass of water
