Will stir fry without meat taste bland?!

Question: Will stir fry without meat taste bland?
I bought some noodles, a packet of stir fry vegetables, packet of beansprouts and made a sweet chili and ginger sauce for a stir fry I'm making for guests tonight. The idea was I would then buy some cooked shredded duck from the butcher later but I've twisted my foot and cannot walk. I was wondering if the stir fry will taste horrible with just vegetables and without any form of meat. Do I need to make something different? The sauce is quite strong tasting

Answers:

No, it will be just fine without meat. Just season your foods, even if there is meat, you still need to season. You can season with spices, herbs, soy sauce, oyster sauce and so on. You can even saute some onions and garlic and add into it, what about some sauted mushrooms too.

The most important thing is the balance of the ingredients, meat is not the key character.

Im Vegetarian, and that sounds tasty enough as it is. But you might use Mock Duck from a health-food shop ( if your in England. i don't know about America! -they don't like Veggies) Or use Vegi mince/meat.

Add mushrooms if you have, the, they are very potent. Or quorn, or tofu or soysauce.

Iron rich foods- mushrooms, kale, collards, soybeans, gluten, green peas.

If you were not having guests I would say that is fine. However, because you are cooking for several others I think the meat is a necessity. Can you call a friend to help you out? Good Luck

Stir fry is still great without meat. That's how veggies have it, that or with quorn, but it tastes fine without meat

Stir fry addict

I make vegetable stir fry all the time...I just toss it with pasta and it makes a great meal. A spicy sauce helps even more :)

As long as your sauce is good it should be fine. If you really want meat then ask one of your guest if they wouldn't mind picking it up for you, I'm sure they would understand.

no it wud be jus fine jus make sure the salt content is jus fine... too little wud make it bland n too much wud make it hard 2 eat!

No,it will be fine. Just use a bit less sauce and cook up some white or brown rice. It will help soak up the sauce so it's not to potent on the veg.

No I have stir fry without meat all the time to make it a bit cheaper, That sounds like it'll be really tasty!

Not at all. I have vegetable stir fry alllll the time.

it will taste great...put it over rice and you have a great meal

as long as you have sauce it will proly be fine

nah that would be fine
