what are some ways i can save money on food?!

Question: What are some ways i can save money on food?
Answers:

When you are shopping for food make a list- this will help you to avoid buying things that you do not need.
Stop using recipes- Cooking from recipes is great if you are not the most confident cook, but if you force yourself to experiment with food, you can use up all the bits and pieces left over in the refrigerator and cupboards that might otherwise just sit there and spoil. If you try to empty your cupboards between shopping you will save a fortune.
Keep leftovers-Supermarkets have a tendency to package items in odd numbers – such as packs of 3 steaks when you only want 2. This can work to your advantage – buy the 3 pack, cook it all, and save one piece for lunch the next day.
Use Coupons-Coupons are an excellent way to save money. Some shops use loss leaders- this is when they sell goods at cost or less than cost. The aim of loss leaders is to draw customers in to the store. Take advantage of this and shop at a few different places – buying only coupon items. You will be amazed how much money you can save. But be warned – just like bulk buying – do not buy items you do not need just because they are so inexpensive. You are not saving any money when you buy something you don’t need.

Besides the obious answer of clipping coupons is makeing a list and getting what you need, but even though people say stick to the list that's not nessesarly true. If they have something on sale hat you normally get or will need and it wont perish GET IT. If you are going to buy something on sale that you normally get get more of it because your going to use it anyway. Also save it dont waist it no matter how small. If you go out to dinner or just something simple like Panda dont et drinks, if you do get water...it's okay to drink but it can get expensive.

Shop at discount stores for the basics. They may not have everything, but they have necessities.
Buy the generic or store brand. It's a lower price for the same product, made by a different brand.
Clip coupons and buy items on sale. But only things you really need. Don't buy things just because they're on sale.
Make a list of what you need and don't buy extra things that you don't need.

most of the other answer were very good( no don't eat at denny's! yuk) try to plan meals ahead of time and not buy too many pre-packaged things, it's best to know how to make things from scratch so if you don't have that much cash to spare then you can make meals on the cheap. a few good basics to know are how to make biscuits, noodles and chicken stock. stock your freezer and make more than you will eats then wrap up the leftovers and freeze them. this is much less expensive than buying frozen dinners and healthier as well!

Clipping coupons is good for stuff you would buy anyways. coupons.com is good, couponcabin.com is good too.
Buy store brands and bulk whenever you can. Stores like Smart and Final are good for big quantities. I saw a huge can of tuna for less than $10. You could make a bunch of tuna casserole to freeze in meal portions.
Keep staples on hand like pasta and rice to stretch meats and vegetables.
Don't buy prepackaged foods or things like those flavor packets for meat loaf or spaghetti sauce.
Learn to make your own spaghetti sauce etc.
I feed 3 adults for less than $250 per month. I cook almost everything from scratch, I can seasonal fruits and vegetables.
If you have a baby, make your own baby food.

Where you can buy in bulk.
For something like Macaroni Cheese buy a box of pasta elbows and a block of cheese and make your own rather than paying for a box of ready mix, you will get a fraction of the amount.
The same applies to rice and spuds

Go to Denny's and shop in the expired foo section lol my mom shops there all the time. The food is still good, just too old to sell at full price.

Clip coupons and work the sale ads. I save up to 75% on my grocery bills sometimes.

Clip out coupons from your local paper. Or go on line to Coupons.com and print some out.
