Should I add milk or water to the icing sugar to make cake icing?!

Question: Should I add milk or water to the icing sugar to make cake icing?
Answers:

Either butter or water, not milk

It really does depend on what recipe you're using. On the stove recipes want you to use water. A chocolate Ganache requires cream- not milk. Softer mixed frostings might ask for a little milk.

Overall, though, a basic frosting recipe will require neither. Instead, it's softness will come from room temperature butter. Chunks of butter are to be combined with confectioner's sugar and flavoring to gain the desired effect.

you can use any. i usually use water. milk will probaly make it creamy? im not sure. its up to you really they will both work :)

i always make cakes and buns :)

Whole milk or half and half. If you are going to eat cake it might as well be a GOOD cake! The more fat in it the better the results will be.

Water hun x
