is spaghetti healthy for you?!

Question: Is spaghetti healthy for you?
i love spaghetti but am woundering do the carbs in it turn into fat. i always watch what i eat am if anyone could help me out. how many serving is ok to eat? and how many times a week or month can you eat it?

Answers:

All foods are healthy in moderation. And carbs are essential for humans to survive, they give us energy.
Spaghetti is pure carbohydrate, so it is extremely ideal if you are a marathon runner, or simply very active.
If you are a total couch potato, don't eat spaghetti in the evenings simply because your body has no use for the energy. If you are reasonably active, and have a balanced diet, then it is harmless to you, and will give you long lasting energy for the next 24 hours from when you eat it.

Wholewheat spaghetti would be even healthier due to it having more fibre and being harder for your body to break down, thus taking longer for it to turn into fat.

You sound young, it is harmless to you. I'd say eat it no more than 3 times a week, just to ensure that the rest of your meals are properly balanced with protein, vegetables and other forms of carbs such as rice and potatoes. You won't 'gain' instant weight from it, especially if you keep within a reasonable portion per meal.
The most harmful thing about spaghetti would probably be the high fat sauces and meatballs that often go with it!
Good Luck, - Deana.
