How long do unseasoned bread crumbs last?!

Question: How long do unseasoned bread crumbs last?
I have a canister with no expiration date. I think I've had them for about 3 years. They look and smell fine.

Answers:

3 years is too long. They are probably really stale.

I personally wouldn't use them.

If you decide to go for it, make sure to pour them onto a large dinner plate and stir through them with a fork. You need to look for bugs and worms.

In the future, keep them in the freezer.

They should last for years no problem.
If you feel the need to dump them, feed them to the birds.

Unless they were in the freezer, throw them into the garbage.
