What do you think these tribal people did hold dinner parties and had friends around for a light lunch and drinks?
Your talking things like digging up roots
and insects.
Picking poisonous fruit and seeping them in water until the Poison is removed?
Right the honey pot ant was and still is a great favourite sweet!
You dig it to an ants nest right down to the storage camber to find that a large number of ants attached to the earth ceiling by their jaws their lower abdomen swollen with the sap of certain plants.
You pick an ant doing excites the solder ants which crawl all over you .
Now you twist the head and thorax away from the pot and pop the pot in your mouth and repeat till you have had enough!

Tke one stick and poke around in the ground till you come across the site where there is a whitchity grub laying !
take you whitchity grub and using a camp fire you have lite before place the whitchity grub in the hot ash till its cooked and eat it!

Its called survival not using couses or place setting you just get what you can get and eat it!

And damper are not a black fellas invention da was brought to OZ by white settlers.
some dinner party eh!

Side dish of damper (soda bread baked in the coals of a fire), hot coals and a splash of beer helps.

Can you get witchetty grubs? Common Aboriginal food, as is snake, lizards, birds. I don't think there are recipes as such, unless how they cook it, (wrap in leaves/mud and toss on a fire).

Whatever they are lucky to catch whilst hunting goes on (or in the fire) and is their meal.

There are hundreds of Aboriginal tribes in this world.

Which one are you talking about.?
