Question: What is the weirdest bird you have ever ate? (keep it clean!!)?

I used to eat Osterrich in a mushroom and white wine sauce every nite off with friends when i worked in portugal. how about you? Osterrich was lovely, a lot more tasty than turkey and chicken.

I have eaten most game birds. pheasant, snipe, woodcock, grouse etc etc.. People may think me strange for my love of blackbird, however. They can be huge and meaty with a rich flavour that develops in maturity. Can be made confit. am I the only one?- some are far larger than a wood-pigeon - (i love them too..)
