What's a good bread spread for someone on a diet?!

Natural peanut butter. Its not low cal, but it has a lot of protein, its good on toast for breakfast. And jelly, I like Polaner All Fruit the best because it has no added sugar (real or fake), its made from fruit and fruit juices and is pretty low calorie.
I did a detox diet once, which I ended up losing 20 lbs on, and I had 2 pieces of toast for breakfast every morning, one with the pb, one with jelly on some kind of flax/wheat bread and it was really good. Keep in mind the bread too, nothing white.
Peanut butter contains a lot of oil. Jams and jellies have tons of sugar.
Neufchahetel cheese is lower in fat than cream cheese. Spread Neufchatel on toast, cover with cooked (microwave) apple slices, and sprinkle with Cinnamon and nutmeg.
