I have never had custard with my apple pie but it sounds very yummy and I look forward to trying it and loving it next time.
I used to like custard until I found out what it's made of. It may be weird, but a little bit of mint chocolate chip on pie is pretty good.
For me it has to be custard every time, thick, vanillary and piping hot!
Hot pie - hot thick custard.
Cold pie - extra thick double cream.
I don't think I've ever had ice-cream with apple pie.
Maybe I'll try it this summer.
Custard and preferably not 'crême anglaise'. Bird's Custard rules! OK!
