How long should one wait after taking a cake out of the oven before icing it?!
Answers:
wen the cake is cold down. 10-15mins
8 to 10 min in not enough.. cause if there is any heat left in the cake, the icing will just melt and run off, it wont sit up pretty.. Believe me, I made this mistake when I was in a rush..
you have to wait until the cake is "completely" cool.. whatever time it takes, 30 min or 2 hours.. whatever, when you feel of it with the back of your hand it feels completely cool.
you know the icing is made of oil/margarine, or butter, so it will melt if you put it on a warm cake.. it will just run off the top and down the sides.. all messy like.
That depends. If your cake is due to today (or the day you take the cake out of the oven), just wait until it's somewhat lukewarm. As long as the icing won't melt. However, if it's for later, just wait for the cake to be completely cool - then you'll be sure the icing won't melt :)
Wait until the cake has cooled completely.
I always ... ALWAYS .. bake my cakes the night before, wrap them with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. I frost them directly from the fridge the next morning.
Wait until it has cooled down completely and then wait a bit longer just to be extra careful :)
Just leave the cake and let it cool down for a few Hours, because there's no rush unless it's necassary
I stick my cake in the refrigerator for about 45 minutes and then take it out and ice it.
About 10 minutes or so.
let you cake rest in the pan 10 min before you take it out
now wail until it is completely cool another 20 to 30 min
