i ate haraam meat?!gdtrhryjy?!

Question: I ate haraam meat?!gdtrhryjy?
i was at a friends house and the woman gave me a large plate of pasta with bolognaise which wasn't halal. i recited bismillah a number of times but when i got home ive just looked up the punishment of consuming halal meat which i didnt know of beforehand:
“The prayers of a person who eats one morsel of haraam food will not be heard for forty days.”

WHATTTT?! i didnt know this before and if i did i would have refused the meal no matter how rude it sounded.
but now what do i do in this position

Answers:

your intentions weren't bad, so i'm sure you can be forgiven if you ask. its not like you purposely did it just because you wanted to.

Depending upon your local Iman, the rule may be different for intentionally eating haraam meat or accidentally eating haraam meat.

However, as you become older and wiser, you'll find that all that stuff is a load of stuff.

I would not bother praying for 40 days, it'd be a waste of time. So try to use that extra time you have for the next month or so to find another religion. Think of it like having a month off work to find another job.

Is there much you can do?
