Do cooked and uncooked(rice grain) white rice have the same amount of calories?!


Question: Do cooked and uncooked(rice grain) white rice have the same amount of calories?
lets put it this way i have a cup(49g) of uncooked white rice that gives 300 clories so when i cook it it will probably give more than 2 cups of rice or 1 and 1/2 rice.
so my question is will it give me the same amount of calories?even when i cook it? or i get twice calories?please help me i have no idea!

Yes, the same.

If you measure COOKED rice at 50 grams,
and a load of DRY rice at 50 grams, then the dry rice will have more calories, because dry = no water inside the rice yet.


If your rice when its uncooked is 50 grams and has 300 calories, you're not adding anything to it=- only water.

It's just that when it's cooked, it will weight 500 grams or whatever- cooked food has the same calories as when it is raw, just before you cook it.
If all you do is cook it in water- it's the same calries it just weighs more, because it's cooked and therefore has soaked up loads of water.
Potatoes kind of stay the same, because they don't soak in water.
Pasta weighs a little more- Rice is very absorbant, so it soaks up a lot.


Of course it you cooked the rice in pure oil!, then it would be gross and have more calories, and it probably would even cook.
You get the idea.

Milk is a good example. You can cook that 50 grams of rice in whole milk ( nice, for rice pudding) and you'll have the same 300 calorie rice, plus however much milk you used.



so- if you cook things in water- they are the SAME calories, even if you're talking about eggplant which will absorb a TON of water, or zucchini.
