Do you use a slow-cooker/crock pot often?!

Question: Do you use a slow-cooker/crock pot often?
My wife made some Sloppy Joes in it and they were great. They taste like she had been cooking over a hot stove all day. I think the crock pot really does cook food really tasty. Do you cook with one often? What kinds of things do you make?

Answers:

My crock pot is second only to my coffee pot for 'most used' appliance.

Mainly I do many different brown rice and beans concoctions - and soups.

I use crock pots frequently. I love to make chili, sweet and sour chicken, and really love to cook a whole chicken with some onion and whatever sounds good (sometimes BBQ sause, sometimes pineapple and orange juice, whatever I am lucky enough to have). SOme thick boneless pork chops covered by a mixture of cream of mushroom soup and green peppercorn gravy mix makes for some of the greatest chops ever. I recommend getting a good crock pot cookbook (there are tons of them out there)

I make a mean 'sweet beans' recipe in my crock pot. Haven't done it in a while; this inspires me! Dump all kinds of beans (kidney beans, pork and beans, black beans, white beans, chick peas), and a pound of ground beef, cooked and drained with an onion. Add about a half of a cup of ketchup and 1/2 cup brown sugar, a squirt of mustard. Cook all day. USE A BIG Crock pot, though. They're wonderful! My son's favorite meal!

Yes, my go-to crockpot dinner is a pot roast with potatoes, carrots, and onions.

I cook lots of soup in my crock pot. I have also made yogurt and bread pudding in it.

Yes, I make roasts and beans in it all the time.?
