why does soda burn my throat?!

Question: Why does soda burn my throat?
Answers:

If its fizzy soda, such as sprite or cold mountain dew, it is very common. Some people's throats are sensitive to hot or cold foods or drinks such as hot sauce, hot cocoa, soda, etc. Do not worry! But if it hurts when your drinking water, you might want to concider seeing a doctor. Hope i helped! :)

Idk

Generally its the carbonation. If you let some of the carbonation die down, you may tolerate the sodas better. From a health stand point, if you never drink another soda it will be too soon. They are nothing but colored water, with either sugar or artificial sweeteners added. Try cold water with a squeeze of orange or lime juice!

Your lynfnode might be swollen (ignore my bad spelling). mine was when i was really congested and it hurt to drink anything! You can touch the sides of your neck to see if this is whats happening. If one side is hurting when you press on it, your lynfnode is swollen. Just let it get better and if it doesnt, go to the doctor also soda contains alot of acid....

Not that I drink soda anymore, but when I would get them from the health food store they burnt my throat too. The ones I drank were less acidic too.

It does that to me too. I thought it was an allergic reaction.
