I need lunch ideas. Im afraid of my food spoiling before lunch. Im out of the house 5 hours before lunch time?!

Question: I need lunch ideas. Im afraid of my food spoiling before lunch. Im out of the house 5 hours before lunch time?
I am a college student who commutes it usually takes an hour for me to get to school. I have my lunch around 12 and im trying not to spend money on the fast foods that surround my college. So i needed some lunch ideas for on the go lunches. I originally wanted to bring things from home but im afraid of my food spoiling since i would be out of the house 5 hours before lunch time. So far the only thing i bring is peanut butter and jelly but I don't want to have that every single day. Any ideas?

Answers:

I've been taking my lunch since I was in grade school and never had a problem with spoilage, and I generally leave the house around 7 am.
As long as your lunch isn't sitting in a hot place, you really don't need to worry about it.
I've taken cold cut and cheese sandwiches, leftover pizza, cups of yogurt, baby-cut carrots, fruits (apples, pears, bananas, grapes).
When I was in high school I used to make 5 sandwiches on Sunday night, wrap them all up, and put them in the freezer. Saved me time in the morning. They thawed out by noon.
I currently use an insulated lunch bag but don't bother with an ice pack. The bag sits on a corner of my desk all morning, and my food is not spoiled by lunchtime.

If you like yoghurt. put containers of it in the freezer. Throw them in your lunch bag. They will keep the other items in your lunch cold, and will thaw out enough to eat by 12. They're also good frozen. This is less messy that trying to carry ice.
Then you can take cold roast chicken, or other meats, pasta salad, whatever you like.

Sandwich or sub.
Maybe buy an ice pack.
Banana
Pizza in baggy of course

use icepacks and a cooler. That's what I use. Keeps my lunch fresh the whole time.
