Which olive oil is the best? What brand?!
Answers:
Don't concentrate on the brand but the type.
If you want for salads you Extra Virgin and it is the priciest, there are lesser grades and the prices reflect that.
When cooking with Olive Oil you can't get the high heat for frying, so look for canola or vegetable oil. Peanut oil is good for high temperature but like good EVOO it is pricey.
I don't think it's so much a matter of brand as whether it's Virgin, Extra Virgin or regular. Check the label to see how much fat or cholesterol is in the bottle. Virgin, Extra etc. doesn't refer to this. It's merely how early it was picked or how refined it is. They're all still fattening.
what I've read.
well it depends on what dish you are preparing but if you want something for dressing for salads and soup i find extra virgin olive oil from italy is great. but if you want it for an antipasto the spanish variety is best.
OLIO VERDI Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil is best.
Anything from the island of Crete, in Greece....many agree that their oil is the finest in the world.
