You need a good balanced diet with plenty of carbs and vegetables with meats.

Eat foods that are higher in fat and calories, but still healthy. Trail mix with nuts and dried fruits is a great option. Cheese is also a good choice.

It's hard to tell you how to adjust your diet when we don't know what you are eating. If you're eating really light all the time, then the advise would be different than if you're eating a basically balanced diet. But I'll bet if you nibble on nuts and trail mix throughout the day, add a snack of peanut butter on toast or cheese toast, and eat larger portions in the rest of your meals, then you'll gain a little weight.

Breads in general are a good source of carbohydrates that your body needs for energy. Bagels are extra dense. While one slice of bread has about 70 calories, one small 3-inch bagel has over 150 calories. Top your bagel with cream cheese and some 100% fruit spread for an energy dense and healthy snack.

Pasta is another energy dense source of carbohydrates and can serve as the base of a healthy and high calorie meal (one cup of cooked spaghetti noodles has 220 calories). Top your pasta with lycopene-rich marinara sauce and add a quarter cup of shredded cheese for more calories and calcium.

Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats plus vitamin K, potassium and fiber and one avocado has more than 200 calories. You can add avocado slices to your sandwiches or make guacamole and serve with baked tortilla chips.

Choose 100% fruit juice instead of sugary sodas and energy drinks to get calories and vitamins. Look out for fruit-flavored drinks that are mostly sugar or high-fructose corn syrup –- they just don’t pack the nutritional value of 100% fruit juices.

Never just eat fast food and junk food to gain weight. Gain weight the right way. Eat your daily servings but increase the calorie intake either the food groups. The daily serving is 2,400 so try to take in alittle bit more calories. Foods such as nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds, etc.) are good healthy foods that are fatty. Also eat lean meats and carbs. Trust me you don't want to gain weight fast because you'lll get stretch marks and cellulite. Try to gain a pound a week, so your body can adjust normally. Also muscle adds weight to you too so work out your muscles, do less cardio because cardio burns more fat. Hope I helped.

Mind

Well if your going to gain weight i suggest you do it in a healthful way. So yes, that means eating fast food and sugar are not recommended ways to do so. But foods which could help you gain weight that are generally healthy are, whole grains: like pastas and breads, or you could try nuts, seeds, dried fruits, etc. Anything that's in trail mix because they pack a lot of calories for such a small portion of food. If those don't work try eating more or just buy a weight gaining drink at a fitness store. Remember to exercise your growing body as well. Keeping your new, "assets" toned is never a bad thing. Good Luck! :)

Peanut butter is a good healthy food to gain weight also any kind of nuts, drink milk, make sure you eat enough calories, Please don't eat junk food. I have the same problem keeping weight on. If you don't see results with with that, Buy Ensure Plus.
