She says that because she eats a lot of vegetables, eating fruits is not so important. Is it true?

She should be fine. Milk does not "make a body good" like we once thought and dairy is a very common food allergy. I've found that I feel a lot better when I am on a dairy free diet.

She's not getting any fiber from that orange juice and by the time a fruit is broken down into juice form, its basically just sugar. Not much benefit from juice.

If she eats plenty of veggies, fresh ones, especially some raw, she should be just fine.

Fruits are very important because they contain phytochemicals you don't get anywhere else. They are also rich in antioxidants which counteract the free radicals your cells produce in response to living and breathing. I wide variety of everything is best. Dairy is not necessary as dark, leafy green vegetables are packed with calcium. Drinking fruit juice is fine as long as it is natural. Most store bought juices are filled with sugar and made from concentrate which is worthless. She's better off juicing her own fruits if she wants to drink them.

She should probably include a really good vitamin (not that One A Day kind). Fruits, Veggies, Protein are all important so if she isn't eating these things she needs to supplement.

She's fine.
