use Pliers.
run hot tap water over lid ,then get a knife handle and gently tap the edges , a damp clothe will assist in a good grip ,then it should come off cleanly..failing that chuck it as far away as possible
Just puncture the lid of the cap. It'll release the possible air-tight lock.
if you gently tap the cap top on a hard surface, it usually pops right off.
worked for me. Hope it works for you! :)
Whack it carefully on the counter edge.
Grip it with a tea towel.
Put a rubber band around the lid for a better grip
Thrash it.
