An honest question about ketchup?!

Question: An honest question about ketchup?
Does ketchup actually taste of anything itself?
Or does everything taste of ketchup, just you can't actually taste it until you put ketchup on it?

Thank you for your time.

Answers:

Try ketchup by itself, and you will see what it tastes like.

I'm kind of confused by your question but, ketchup does have a distinct flavor, kind of an unspicy, salty vinegar and tomato flavor. Adding it to different things will complement the other dish and may at times over power it.

Ketchup is to be used in situations where the items would be so disgusting without it that you wouldn't eat it; ie. hotdogs.

It is reminiscent of less processed tomato sauces, which are in turn somewhat reminiscent of tomatoes.

Ketchup is like the best invention. It taste good on everything, except ice dream. And even tastes good by itself ;)

You mean catsup, right?
