No money for food, but here you are on the internet.
Any mammal is just about good, and a few reptiles are too. Just need cut their throats, hang them, gut them and skin them. Most animals are castrated a couple of days before they kill them to avoid the meat from spoiling, but I'm guessing you want to go hunting, so as soon as you kill the animal, cut their balls off.
All animals have a different preparation you need to undertake in order to eat them so you don't suffer from parasite infestation or food poisoning, but if you really want specifics, I know of this great site called Google where you can search for specific information on how to prepare each animal.

My grandfather was a butcher. I'm not to keen on eating flesh, but my mom taught me anyway ("Just in caseies").

Fishing is much easier. But yes, hunting is you most viable solution for food if you have no water nearby. Squirrels and rabbits might be best to start with. You can set a trap or even use a blow gun. You need to watch a video on how to skin it and get all it's guts out.

If you don't have a field to find rabbits and squirrels, do you have deer? They require much more work and usually have to be taken to the butcher for proper preparation. You have to be able to hang larger animals with special equipment.
Stick with smaller things until you get the hang of it all or have someone who knows what they are doing. I don't recommend birds, you have to pick the shot out of them if you are good enough to get one in the first place.

The least troublesome way is to snap the neck. Then you hang it by the hind legs, cut from the throat up to the bottom of the belly and let the blood/innards out. Then decapitate and skin it. You should be able to cook it straight after that.

Birds are way more trouble: you need to pour boiling water over their fresh carcasses to loosed the feathers, then pluck them all. Then do the same as above.

Go eat your mom.
