Do I need a license to sell chocolate bars and canned drinks at school in england?!

Question: Do I need a license to sell chocolate bars and canned drinks at school in england?
I have been selling food and drinks at my school. The canteen is a total rip off, for example they charge 65p for a drink that costs no more than £1.60 for a 6 pack and almost every thing they sell is like that. It is also supposed to be "non-profit" canteen...

Anyway I was caught and was told if i continue my parents and the police would be called in...
My parents would have a go at me... for getting caught... but is this really a police matter?
I looked on a website and it said that small businesses don't need a license and i guess that means I don't need one. But i would like for someone to confirm this.
I have not been able to find any more info on on the web

Thanks in advance.

Your first problem is that you need the school's permission......

Many schools today are prohibiting such things as chocolate bars & soft drinks.
Licensing is for sales in the municipality; it has no application in schools.
Schools come under the school board & principal/head-master.
If you insist on doing this they can report you to the police.
You are not doing your fellows any favour.

the schools permission

the canteen will have cost that you can't see like tables & chars they may look old but thy still have to be paid for like heating and lights wages insurance ground rent
and if it is non profit making the profit would go to the school

you don't need to license to sell food but u do need permission from the school. ask them if you are aloud to sell the sweets at school you would donate a percentage to Charity

likely its not needed, however likely its against your school's policy to sell products for profit, and you can therefore be punished.
