It's made from maple syrup, which is similar to golden syrup or honey.

It can be an acquired taste, but I like the stuff.

Maple candy is made from maple syrup. If you like maple syrup you will like maple candy. I grew up in an area that produces HUGE amounts of Canadian maple syrup, so I am slightly offended by the reaction that it is disgusting. I LOVE maple products. Maple sugar candy (which is produced by boiling down the maple syrup until it has a coarse consistency (like wet sand) and then pouring it into molds to harden, is AMAZING. It melts in your mouth.

Never heard of it, not something we see in the shops here, but I love real Canadian Maple Syrup so I'd be willing to give them a go if I could find them.:o)
