I too am trying to change some of what I eat to organic - but I am also on a tight budget, but also have trouble sourcing alot of organic food.
One thing that you can do to keep the cost down is buy some organic food, but there are other types of food which don't really need to be organic. Some fruits and veggies have such thick skins that very little to none of the pesticides penetrate the flesh of the fruit/veggie, and another reason some fruits and veggies have lower pesticide levels is because they don't require pesticides to grow.
There are websites which will tell you which fruits and veggies you should absolutely buy organic as their pesticide loads are so high - peaches are the highest on the fruit list, and bell peppers are the highest on the veggie list.
Others include strawberries and raspberries, grapes, green leafy veggies, root vegetables (eg potatoes), as well as eggs, milk and meat.
If you can't afford to buy all organic food, just make sure you buy these items in organic form, as this will benefit you. Of course it would be ideal to have all organic, but not many people have that luxury.
Why not buy normal non organic food and cover it in a layer of dirt for the organic feel.
Guy in Walmart told me.
You could grow your own. You could also join a co op.
Grow them on your own :)
