No, it is not legal and I don't think not many would want to buy 'expired' food even if its on super low price.



Simple Answer - No

Due to laws in most countries, it is illegal to sell food past it's expiry date. If you sell it and it is out of date, then somebody gets poisoned as a result of eating that food, then you're in some serious trouble.

However, some may argue between "expiry date" and "best before".

Anyway, moral of the story is; never sell goods that are out of date and always check the expiration date of food items that you're buying, especially things such as meats and other perishable items. Believe me, food poisoning is nasty!



Yes. Often the date on food is not the expiration date, but the best by or sell by date. There are many stores that sell slightly past-prime food for a discount. Amelia's is an example.
