zest is just the orange part on the outside

rind is the peeling, from the orange outside all the way down to (but not including) the flesh.



Orange rind and zest are the same thing. You NEVER eat the white pith anyway. So, if you bought a bottle of dried orange zest and another bottle of dried orange rind, the difference would simply be the fact that the zest is ground



orange zest is the scrapings from only the outermost part of the rind.
