Question: Why do food companies feel the need to put "partially hydrogenated oil" in hot chocolate mix?
It is the first ingredient in many boxes at the store... gross! I couldn't find one without it at all. Just curious what you people think.

I'm not 100% sure of the reason, but one reason is the added fat gives the hot chocolate that velvety smooth mouth-feel. It's a way of adding the richness of fat without having to use real cocoa butter.



It's a cheap filler and they don't give a damn about your health.
