Can cherries in a bowl of cold water in the fridge (not covered with plastic wrap) get you sick?!
I had number 2 problems, stomach aches, chills, and a fever.

how old were they ? you can pick up a diareah bug from plain water thats been sitting in the open too long
No I wouldn't think so unless you are allergic to cherries.
I doubt it was the cherries.
What else did you eat recently and why were they soaking in water?
