Your body burns carbs for an energy source, so if your prepping for a highly physical activity its a good idea to eat pasta or breads the night before, however you don't to eat a lot of these foods right before a lot of physical activity because it will make u feel full and weighed down, your body needs time to digest the food.
gain energy: pasta, things with carbs.
im not sure what you mean by tire you, but eating celery makes you lose weight. because it takes more energy to digest and eat it than the calories it is itself.
