Well it depends how much your ingredients are because at car boot sales, they'd have to be cheap cakes, say 20 - 50p?

The profits you were able to generate from a car boot sale especially when selling sweets like cakes, cupcakes, muffins etc. This still depends on the marketing strategy you have like promotions of your products and the quality of products itself.

In the UK you need a Food Hygiene/Safety certificate before you can do so which has to be displayed. You will also need public liability Insurance in case anyone has an allergy to your ingredients. All food must be labelled with ingredients and properly wrapped.

EDIT: If you read No Ones answer you will see why the UK insists on catering regulations.

retired Catering business owner. Same rules apply for any food being sold. UK

Figure out the TOTAL COST of the baked goods you want to sell, include the time it takes to make them, and then take the per-piece cost and x it by 4.

That is the total you should aim to sell your products for.

Make sure to have coffee, tea, coco, or little milks for sale with the baked goods.

You will most likely make a lot of money... I did selling doughnuts at my high school.

Oh... Yeah... Check your local laws regarding food sales. If you need all kinds of permits, it won't be worth it.

Here in the US, I would just get a bunch of boxes of doughnuts for free the night before from the grocery store that was going to throw them out at the end of the day then sell them for $0.50 each or 3 for $1.00 and I would make anywhere upwards of $80.00 a day... Twice a week. (Depending on how many doughnuts I got and if they were popular flavors.)

You need to consider the cost of your space (rental), cost of your food and your time. There is also the cost of a food license. Some shows require that you have one from the city or county health department. If you sell coffee and or drinks with your desserts you will make money. It all depemds on what you are looking to make at the car boot sale.

you will be wasting your time! honestly.you are going to get up early, spend money and effort on amking those cakes for a mere price of pound or something whilst sitting on a cold chair in the cold for around 5 hours. The costs of this operation will outweigh the benefits

most people dont buy food from private sellers. they prefer stuff in packets or from hot dog vans. i think they dont trust anyone not to poison them and they dont know if a seller might have a filthy kitchen. so i think you wont do well.

You would if you haven,t got a licence to sell food!
