What is the name of the soup that I ate...?!

Question: What is the name of the soup that I ate...?
In a couple of bars/restaurants in Tallinn, Estonia, I had a thick soup which was a reddish colour, I think had some kind of sausage in it and was usually served with a big dollop of sour cream in the middle. Can somebody tell me what it was called.

Answers:

I think you mean 'seljanka'.

I'm Estonian.

It's their traditional Bean Soup: made with broad beans, smoked meat, potatoes and onion. Served hot with sour cream.

Probably the Estonian bors (borscht) soup. Many countries have variations on this recipe. Check out attached website for more information:

Hope this helps you.
