Does anyone know of a mexican pear-shaped fruit?!

Question: Does anyone know of a mexican pear-shaped fruit?
Somebody gave me this delicious mexican fruit! I just don't know what it's called! The inside is a bit white, the fruit is pear-shaped, and the lady said it's called something like a "ZYOTE" or "CYOTE"??? HELP!

I don't know which you are thinking of but there could be two things, the first is a "chayote" (chai-yo-tay) which is a pear shaped vegetable. The other is a "camote"(ca-mo-tey) which is a Mexican sweet potato.

They do also use figs

Guanabana ?

Or Chayote, but it`s not a fruit, it doesn`t taste sweet...
