Homemade Lunches on the Go - Is sushi safe if kept in a thermo insulated bag/box other on the go lunch options?!
If at risk of salmonella, what lunches other than sushi and sandwiches are safe to kept in a thermo insulated bag/box (if kept with ice packs etc) for work.
Thanks.

Sushi is not really designed as a take-away option. It is meant to be made fresh and then eaten straight away. The best type of sushi to use would be a type of makizushi or sushi roll. I think onigiri would be a better option as this is usually eaten as a snack food or with a lunch box in Japan.

Its not a great idea in these times..
My favorite school lunch from home--was eggplant or chicken parmigiana on Pepper Ridge Farm Bread..
..but I like Peanut Butter and Jelly..except the grape jelly would soak the bread by lunch-time..
Mostly my mom would make..deli cold cut sandwiches..usually on Pepper Ridge Farm Bread..
..just useing wax papper..nothing was chilled for lunch--
I think the most exotic it got was green peppers and fresh ham..on a sliced Italain bread we used at home..
On fishing trips..my dad would make fry'd egg sandwiches..again nothing was chilled..
Meatloaf was used as a sandwich meat..

Sushi is really kinda' expensive..the plates that I eat are about $$6.00 each..and its really just a snack..
I once ate 20-dollars worth of Sushi..it took about 14-hours..[end]
