Somewhere dark and cool...........try to keep them outside the fridge but far far away from the sunshine.......
I kept them where there was sunshine before.........and they grew up very fast........till they decayed..........;D

dark, cool, dry place should work. Like a cabinet/cupboard/pantry. They don't necessarily have to be in the fridge. People used to just store them in the basement. Thats where they do best. Why its called a potato cellar.
Never keep them in the light (unless you don't want to eat them) potatoes are part of the nightshade family, and if they turn green (photosynthesize) it activates the solinaceae (a toxin) if they turn green in the sun, throw them away.

Use one of those multi-wall paper bags and keep in a cool dark place like a cupboard or a drawer in the kitchen.
Don't keep them in plastic bags as they will sweat.
You can keep them anywhere outside the refrigerator.
