Food out of the fridge... can I eat this?!

Question: Food out of the fridge... can I eat this?
I have a dip that a friend made for me yesterday. It has refried beans, avocado with lemon, and mayonnaise with taco seasoning with cheese on top. When we left their house, we took it out of the fridge and had it in our car. We had the heat on while driving, and it was left in the car for an hour (it was 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside, so our car did become cold). In total, it was out of the fridge for 2 1/2 hours. Is this safe from harmful bacteria? I'm 23 weeks pregnant today and need to be careful with food safety to prevent any food illnesses.

Two hours and a half are surely not enough to build a high quantity of bacteria if the food was well prepared. So if you trust the source, enjoy the dip.
Then of course, if the dip was contaminated from the start, then 2 1/2 hours later at room temperature will have made it worse. So, your choice.

It should still be safe for you to eat. If anything was starting during the ride, which I doubt, the 10 degrees would have taken care of it.

It is good that you are careful. Congrats!
