Never had a drink before....HELP????!!!!!?!

Question: Never had a drink before....HELP????!!!!!?
Here's the problem. I was raised in a family who never consumed alcohol. Several member of my family had a problem with alcoholism in the past and my parents didn't want me to be around it. Well now I'm 15. I have a girlfriend and a decent social life. I know sooner or later I'm going to end up in a party with alcohol/drugs. My girlfriends family drinks a lot, which I don't mind, but I'm afraid at how I will act around them. I've never experienced that before. I'm not afraid to drink or anything like that. Actually I have no problem with alcohol or weed and would be accepting if someone offered me a drink or something. However, I'm afraid at how I will act in such a new situation. I already suffer from a small social anxiety disorder and know it would be even worse if that alcohol makes me uncomfortable. PLEASE. HOW CAN I RELAX AND JUST ENJOY MYSELF????? I don't want to look like a baby that's afraid of a little drink. HELP.

first man i know how you feel i been there. i have to say that you don't have to drink if you don't want to . people actually respect that especially if you are young . If you want to drink it's all about knowing your limit. Depends on what they offer. If its strong alcohol drink a little and then wait. that way you will know when you are starting to feel the alcohol and you can stop and have a good time. last advice would be to not worry about it too much. Have a good time . Best of luck

personal experience

okay, you're too young to drink, but i realize that this will come up anyway. so i would suggest against my own consciousness that you drink alone with one good friend (a guy) and just see how you react to alcohol before you consume in a situation with other people.

however, don't just assume that you can get by in life without drinking, because it's just about the people you're around- whether they'll care if you drink or choose not to. you'd rather be around people who respect your choice, anyway.

good luck!

Just say NO to both. I wish now I had 1/3 of what I spent on alcohol. there is nothing wrong with refusing drinks or dope. Any one should respect your decision. If they insist find new friends.

Been there on alcohol- never did drugs.

Drink but water not the ***. Any way, go to a good doctor and then tell your story and ask some suggestion.

well what i would do is when you 18 years old go out on the town with some close mate and have one or 2 drinks and just see how you feel then. don't just drink to get drunk you will just be sick, another thing is take your time in drinking your drink it not a race. and if you feel unwell or like you are lose Control of yourself stop drinking alcohol and drink coke. tape water is free in pubs and clubs so have that. if you eat before you go out it takes you longer to get drunk
a for the weed it dose you more harm then good as it has but me in hospital.

(While I discourage underage drinking, at least I can give you good advice to help you if you do)

Well, your first time might be your worst, so if someone offers you a bottle of beer or a glass of wine, drink it over time, and do not drink it all in a short amount of time.

Also, try grabbing a snack with it to lower the alcohol affect on you or even better, grab a snack and a different drink then go back to the alcohol.

Lastly, be careful if you are tall and skinny, as you are more (much more) prone to the affects of alcohol than a person who is short and fat.

Oh and don't forget, don't drive. You might not feel drunk, but after even one bottle (especially without experience) you might be done for the day.
