No bar code on certain kinds of food ?!


Question: No bar code on certain kinds of food ?
Are there certain kinds of food, where bar codes cannot be used, for instance tomatoes, or is this a thing of the past ?

fresh produce is based on weight per pound. ie... 1.49 a pound. so NO there are not bar codes on fresh fruits and vegetables. If the vegetable is bagged ie.. potatoes and baby carrots, then the barcode is on the bag.

That is why each grocery has a list of code numbers ie...3392 for a certain vegetable. so when they place it on the scale at their register, they type in the 3392 and it tells them the weight and how much it is going to cost.
