I have a box of Zatarain's Red Beans and Rice?!

Question: I have a box of Zatarain's Red Beans and Rice?
What can I do with it? I don't really want to serve it as a side dish. I would however like to incorporate meat into it (no sausage please) preferably ground beef or chicken... Any ideas???

Answers:

Add some Onions and garlic with some Tomatoes and some Chicken like a stew!

We like Zatarains Black Beans (and the Red Beans, too) with 93% browned hamburger. We did not care as much for the chicken, but that could be just us. We also like either with beef Kielbasa or even the turkey Kielbasa isn't too bad.

I would recommend preparing the Zatarain's as the package directs, then cook your protein seperately (ham might be good, but choose your favorite) then combine the two to make the main dish

Grill or cook some sausage or chicken and add it, also add corn maybe. You can add a little bit of salsa or diced tomato.. Bell pepper, onion?

I used to thaw one of those reasonably priced shrimp rings, pull off the tails and throw them in for the last few minutes of cooking.(Just til they turn pink and are heated through) Serve with some crusty french or italian bread...yummy!
