Some cheap healthy foods?!

Question: Some cheap healthy foods?
Hey! Coming this spring I'm gonna try getting more exercises like waking up at 5am to walk or ride bike. I'm really out of shape, I get side stitches and get really sore when I walk/run/work out. I'm not looking to loose any weight at all. I was wondering if you could make a list of some healthy foods that will keep me in shape. I don't mean any diet crap. Just some healthy stuff I can find at turkey hill/grocery stores. And also, are veggie chips good for ya?

Thanks!:3

I'm not sure about the veggie chips, check the ingredient list and see what it says. I do know that baked chips are better than fried chips if that helps any. As far as healthy foods anything that is made from whole wheat is more healthy for you so you could use brown rice instead of white rice, 100% whole wheat bread versus split top wheat bread, whole wheat or multi grain pasta's, whole wheat flour versus white flour etc etc. Eat oatmeal, use frozen or fresh vegetables instead of canned vegetables, eat anything that's green foods that are green are good for you, you can eat potatoes, beans, tuna, peanut butter, marinara sauce, use egg whites instead of the whole egg, any meat that's lean typically your fish, chicken and hamburger that has like 7% fat, and use olive oil versus vegetable oil. Eat walnuts and fruits. I hope this helped some!!! : )

Hey, I've recently lost over 40 lbs and have been so happy about it. There are some things I've come across that have made eating healthy a lot easier. If you're into crunchy and salty stuff like chips and pretzels, many stores that sell bulk items like Sprouts, and Henry's, sell dry roasted peas. It sounds weird, but they're awesome. Also, I've started making mashed potatoes, but using cauliflower instead. Cauliflower is only 40 calories per serving, rather than 210 for mashed potatoes. Just google for a recipe you like. The biggest thing for me has been to cut back on red meat and cheese. Not cut out, just cut WAY back. Good luck!

Stick to whole not processed foods; shop on the outer aisles only.
Eat more fish & poultry than red meats; e.g. Ground turkey instead of burger.
Buy lots of fruit & vegetables, in season, of every colour group.
Use whole-grain products, instead of white foods, such as flour, sugar, lard, etc.
