Ate 1 month expired cheese!?!

Question: Ate 1 month expired cheese!?
I just ate a plate of pasta with tomato sauce and shredded parmesan cheese. When I looked at the packet of cheese, I saw that it had expired in December 2010. I looked at the cheese leftover and there wasn't any mold or green or anything - looked like normal cheese!
What's the worst that could happen? I'm not feeling anything now, I only just finished it 5 minutes ago. Thanks!

If it wasn't moldy you have no cause to worry. Sometimes "expiration date"s refer to the quality of the product as well as the freshness. The cheese may have lost some flavor, but Parmesan is a hard aged cheese and it would take some serious time improperly stored to grow mold that would make you sick.

As long as it tasted fine you will be fine. If it had been bad you probably wouldn't been able to finish your meal.

Life

did you know that Parmesan cheese is aged for years before it is even used?
If you did not see any mold and it smelled fine, you will be fine.

I don't think you will notice any difference. Before the age of refrigerators, people used to cut off the moldy bits and no harm came to them.

bad

Cheese does not expire.

If it looked and tasted ok and didn't smell off (apart from smelling of cheese) i'm sure you'll be fine.

Sell by dates are a guide as long as it looked ok no worries.

just because of the date that is last date to sell in stores as long as there is no mold its ok I ve had cheese last for six months in my fridge
