I'm a bit Confused with expiration dates :S?!

Question: I'm a bit Confused with expiration dates :S?
I'm a bit confused with dates nowadays. I've got a product that expires on the ''10/11'' but I was thinking it either ends October 2011 or its already expired on November 2010. There are no sign of the product being expired itself but just to make sure im eating something In date..

It means month/year so yes, it would be October 2011. A lot of things will have a specific date like 10/03/11, which makes it easier. Enjoy your food!

here in the US, the last number is always the year.
Expiration dates are an educated guess.
Many foods will spoil long before the date if handled incorrectly.
Many last long after the date if handled properly or never opened.
Your senses are your first defense in good versus bad food.
While it is true that you cannot smell things like salmonella, that is why you thoroughly cook foods that are possibly contaminated.
With age related issues, the nose knows. So do your eyes and touch.
Common sense.
All are good indicators.

If you live in the U.S., I think it has to mean October 2011. I just say that cuz I read some stuff... in Asian countries they always write the year first, then month, then date. That's off subject..... What's up with the food containers that say "Sale by ___". Does that mean the grocery store should sale by the date, or the manufacturer should sell to the grocery store by that date??? anyway

Honestly why pay so much attention to the dates, you should trust yourself more. If it smells weird or looks different, don't eat it. If not, go for your life. Trust me nothing is going to happen to you as a result, even if it does say expired

it always goes month year, so its in date. However this is a BEST BEFORE END date so will still be safe to eat for a while after it just wont be as good as before that date.

Just ignore it. Means nothing.

ok
