I bought chicken yesterday for 20 $ but only realized this morning that it was still in my knapsack, however it was kept in room temperature. If I eat it, could I get food poisoning ?

Depends.. What kind of chicken was it? If was raw chicken i'm sure it'd be ok aslong as you cook at well cause all of those bacteria are killed during the process. If its not then... i dunno. make a friend some chicken and test it on them. :p

You should assume that every chicken and every chicken part has salmonella. Without proper refrigeration and cooking temperatures and time, it will likely make you sick, the severity of that can vary widely. 16 hours in a nap-sack at room temperature? Consider it lethal.

Do not eat that chicken. It's probably contaminated with Salmonella and other nasty bugs that will make you very sick.

Don't eat it.
