whats the difference between a Morrisons butcher and other butcher shops?!

Question: Whats the difference between a Morrisons butcher and other butcher shops?
From the perspective of the Butcher and the perspective of shoppers, please

Note: Morrisons is a UK Super Market food store.

Answers:

The price and quality of meat at Morrisons butchers are consistently the best of all the large supermarket chains. In some cases they sell their meat at cost to bring customers in, so a consumer buys all of their shopping from Morrisons.

That said they can never be as skillful or as knowledgeable as a high street Master Butcher if your lucky enough to have one in your neighbourhood. I'm talking about the kind of butcher that makes award winning sausages, his own pork pies, ******* etc. They have a wealth of knowledge a customer can tap into when you shop with them. The problem with traditional butchers are their hours of operation 8.30am-5pm or 4.30pm. These hours are very unhelpful to the modern shopper who after fighting through rush hour may get onto their own high street at 6pm. Also unlike a big supermarket chain good butchers are rarely good at marketing themselves. But it find a good local butcher and talk to him...he will be happy to advise you.

Down to the quality of the base product and how it has been treated.
Saying they have qualified butchers and they'll cut it as you want it is all smoke and mirrors.
So what if the guy has a city and guilds or whatever if the initial product isn't properly hung or undyed etc (you just have to look at the colour of it) and if the initial animal didn't have proper freedom of movement and diet (again look at the colour, marbling and texture) and they aren't free to get the carcass and cut it up themselves (what is all available to buy).
Never mind anything half as complicated like a half decent sausage, try asking for a Barnsley chop, or point of the rump for roasting, or shin of beef, or get them to mince good frying/rump steak twice, or mince different cuts together for galantines, or a good piece of hoggat or mutton, or a knuckle of pork, ox cheeks... none of the qualifications in the world will let them be able to do that for you in a supermarket.
I have no issue with the folks that work there and a butchers counter is possibly slightly better than packs on the shelf... but Morrison's et al are trying to fool people thinking they are as good as an independant butchers by selling the staff's skills.
What some supermarkets sell as The Best or Taste the Difference is the bare minimum starting point for a small basic independant butcher and should not be thought of as anything extra special in any way.

Life

morrisons butcher will have less experience

morrisons have a cheesy crappy advert - that is all
