Thats not really beneficial to health anymore than eating bread.. as you already said. So your basically fulfilling your daily needs for grains & breads (food pyramid), You are not including greasy meats or cheeses. However, if you were to include other toppings you could include meats, cheeses, or veggies that would be healthy and beneficial.

Fiber so it will come out the rear more easily. Other than that, no. It actually may be quite harmful.
I eat homemade pizzas with nothing on it all the time. So I know EXACTLY what you mean.
Just the benefits of eating bread. It would be healthier with tomato sauce and loads of veggies. I would at least put some Parmesan cheese on it or a little mozzarella.
