You just don't buy cheap bacon anymore - I am sure you would fgind them if you did.

This particular cut of meat (the tork) was outlawed in late 1998. The offending piece, the gristle, was considered unpalatable by the Danish Bacon Council and has since been omitted from all sliced bacon products. The gristle however, was found to have superb winter road-gritting properties and as such is used extensively across Scandinavia, with recent usage in the UK. The gristle has a particular saltiness that melts snow up to 3 times more efficiently than ordinary salt-grit. If you'd like to try this on your drive, then it is now very easy to purchase via eBay and the likes.
